Gulabahār —   Mulberry Silk Saree

There is a moment just after sunrise, and just before dusk, when the light turns everything the colour of a blush — soft, metallic, half-silver and half-rose, as though the sky itself were woven from silk. The old Persian gardeners called this hour Gulabahār, the rose-spring, when even stone and water seem to glow from within.

The Gulabahār is a luminous Dusty Rose South Indian Mulberry Silk Saree — woven from pure mulberry silk, prized above all other silk varieties for the exceptional fineness and strength of its thread, spun from silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves. This lineage gives the fabric its signature soft, high sheen and its ability to hold a colour with a shimmering, almost liquid depth — a lustre no other silk quite replicates.

Across the body, the fabric shifts between silver and rose with every fold, tone-on-tone motifs woven subtly into the silk so they reveal themselves only as the light moves — much like the hour of gulabahār itself, never one colour, always becoming another. The palla and blouse are finished with delicate gold and silver thread detailing, a quiet, restrained opulence that lets the fabric's own sheen do the talking.

This is a saree for the woman who understands that true elegance rarely announces itself — it simply catches the light, and lets the room notice on its own.

Pair with diamond, kundan, or oxidised silver jewellery. A blush, dusty rose, or metallic silver blouse will echo this saree's soft, luminous character.
