Product Details

In the old Sanskrit lexicons, there is a word reserved for the deepest, purest blue a stone can hold — Indraneel, the sapphire, named for Indra, lord of sky and storm. It is the blue found at the heart of monsoon clouds just before they break, the blue of dusk deepening into night, prized across centuries as a stone of clarity, depth, and quiet power.

This saree earns that name. Woven in royal blue Georgette Khaddi, the fabric holds a fine, structured texture that drapes with quiet confidence — neither too stiff nor too fluid, but exactly poised between the two. Across the body, a Bandhani-inspired zari lattice unfolds in antique gold — diamond bound to diamond, a pattern born from the tie-and-dye tradition of Kutch and Rajasthan, here rendered in metallic thread rather than resist-dye, so the geometry gleams rather than glows.

The border runs wide and unbroken in rich gold zari brocade, a river of ornamentation along the edge, while the pallu deepens into dense gold botanical motifs before dissolving into a sheer blue georgette tail, finished with delicate hand-tied tassels — a soft, unstructured close to an otherwise richly woven saree.

This is a saree for the woman who carries stillness like strength — the kind of blue that doesn't ask to be noticed, and is noticed anyway.

Pair with kundan, oxidised silver, or antique gold jewellery. A contrasting blouse in rust, orange, or gold — as styled here — brings out the richness of the blue beautifully.

Dry Clean Only — do not machine or hand wash
Iron on low-medium heat, always on the reverse side; avoid direct heat on the zari lattice and border
Store folded in muslin or cotton cloth, away from direct sunlight, to preserve the depth of the blue and the shine of the gold zari
Refold periodically along different lines to prevent permanent creasing
Handle the tasseled pallu edge gently to prevent tangling or pulling
Avoid direct contact with perfume, deodorant, or water — spray fragrance well before draping
Blouse piece (if included): Dry wash only
