Kusumlata — Pure Handwoven Kora Jamdani Saree with Silver Jaari
✨ A Masterpiece of Sheer Elegance ✨
There is a garden that exists only in the language of old textile traders — a garden woven, not grown, where vines never wilt and blossoms never fall. The Sanskrit word for such a flowering creeper is Kusumlata — literally, "flower-vine" — and it is the truest name for what unfolds across this saree: a trellis of blooms in silver and gold, climbing endlessly across sheer purple silk.
Experience the breathtaking artistry of Banaras with this Pure Handwoven Kora Jamdani Saree. Woven seamlessly on traditional handlooms, the saree strikes the perfect balance between an airy, lightweight texture and opulent craftsmanship — Kora silk is prized for its raw, translucent quality, sheer enough to let light pass through, yet strong enough to carry the density of hand-worked jaari.
Across the deep purple ground, a floral vine lattice unfolds entirely in silver zari, interspersed with tiny multicolour blossoms in coral, mustard, jade, and rose — a technique closer to jamdani's supplementary-weft artistry than to printed pattern, each flower placed by hand during the weaving itself, not after. The effect is that of a garden caught mid-bloom, suspended in silk.
The border and pallu rise into fuller richness, with the same floral vine trellis rendered denser and wider in silver-gold zari, finished with a fine crimson-pink piped edge that runs the saree's entire length — a bright, decisive line framing all that quiet floral abundance.
This is a saree for the woman who wears intricacy with ease — where every inch rewards a closer look, and no two glances land on quite the same detail.
Pair with oxidised silver, kundan, or pearl jewellery. A silver or ivory embellished blouse — as styled here — lets the floral jaal take centre stage.
