There is a bird in Bengali and Banarasi weaving lore that appears more often than any other — the mor, peacock, worked into the loom not as ornament but as a small omen of grace. Kokilamayi, "she who carries the birdsong," is an old name for a woman whose presence itself feels like spring — and this saree, light as breath and scattered with woven birds and blossoms, earns it easily.

Woven in soft rani pink, the fabric carries the sheer, airy lightness that defines true jamdani — a fine, breathable weave that drapes with ease rather than structure, ideal for daytime wear and long hours of comfort. The body carries a delicate scattering of gold thread and tiny sequins, catching light subtly as the saree moves.

The border and pallu open into an elegant jamdani jaal — soft-hued peacocks (mor) in moss green with rose-pink plumage, perched among flowering vines, alongside small white birds in flight, all woven directly into the fabric during the loom process rather than printed or embroidered after. The colour deepens from soft blush at the field to a richer magenta-pink at the pallu, giving the saree a gentle gradient quality as it falls.

Jamdani is a fine, breathable weave — light in the hand, but the woven motif work needs gentle handling to stay crisp.
