Nīlamriga Pure Mashru Silk Banarasi Saree

In the forests of myth, there exists a deer that no hunter can catch  not because it is swift, but because it is divine. The Nīlamriga is that creature, woven into silk.

The Nīlamriga is a breathtaking Cobalt Blue Pure Mashru Silk Banarasi Saree — a fabric with a history as rich as its lustre. Mashru, meaning "permitted" in Arabic, was woven for centuries as a silk that could be worn next to the skin while keeping its outer surface gloriously lustrous a fabric born of both devotion and desire, practical and opulent in equal measure.

Against the deep, jewel-like cobalt ground, gold zari deer motifs are scattered like sacred sightings across the body  each figure delicate, each one catching light as though mid-leap through a gilded forest. The deer in Indian mythology is never merely an animal it is grace made visible, the companion of sages, the inhabitant of sacred groves, forever associated with beauty, swiftness, and the divine.

The pallu and border carry the full weight of Banarasi craftsmanship richly woven gold zari paisley and floral detailing that anchors this ethereal blue in the grandest of textile traditions. The contrast between the vivid cobalt and the warm gold zari is nothing short of regal.

This is a saree for the woman who moves through the world with quiet power — noticed, but never caught.Pair with antique gold or polki jewellery. A cobalt blue or deep gold blouse will honour this saree's personality perfectly.
